Why I am passionate about our cooking classes

I grew up in a family with parents who were both amazing old fashioned whole food cooks. My dad grew up on a farm in Kentucky, and brought the love fresh southern food, and of gardening to our suburban lifestyle here in the Arizona desert. While growing up, we moved around a bit, but I can’t recall a single backyard where the garden didn’t go in immediately. Dad took advantage of nearly year round growing seasons, so we had fresh fruits and vegetables year round. In her youth, Mom learned to cook by helping my grandmother in the kitchen, and...

Slow, quiet, intentional: Here's the beginning of my story

I needed time this weekend. Time to slow down, time to be quiet, time to be intentional.  I've been reflecting a lot lately on the things I've currently been doing in my life, the passions I want to cultivate and defining the values I want to live my life by, and it's been hard.  As I've been working through the last few months of my 8-5 office job and preparing to launch our new online retail space for Alis, I feel excitement for my new journey. It was an exhausting weekend of anticipating and attending to the needs of the participants...but I walked away from that retreat feeling like I had received far more than I gave. I was young then, and didn't yet realize that the...

{Fashion} STYLE NIGHT with Jennie Tighe

What if you could walk into your closet and pull a fashionable outfit together for any occasion. How would your day change, even how would your life change if you felt confident that the clothes in your closet work together to support your lifestyle, to make you look and feel fabulous? Even though I am the proprietor of a fashion boutique, this still happens to...
